Elevated British cuisine in London

"The Ivy Tower Bridge" in London is an outstanding restaurant that brings the famous Ivy tradition to a spectacular location on the banks of the River Thames. It is part of the renowned Ivy Collection, which traces its roots back to the original "The Ivy" in the West End, a venue known for its elegant yet accessible atmosphere since 1917. "The Ivy Tower Bridge" opened in 2017 and is in close proximity to two of London's most famous landmarks: Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. This privileged position makes it a popular destination for tourists, day-trippers, and locals looking to enjoy an upscale meal in an impressive setting after a stroll along the river.

Restaurant with Thames view

The restaurant's atmosphere is a perfect blend of sophistication and warmth. Designed by the renowned Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, it spans two floors and offers breathtaking views of the Thames and surrounding sights through floor-to-ceiling windows. The interior combines modern elements with a touch of Art Deco elegance: gleaming brass accents, harlequin stained-glass windows, and lush greenery create an inviting, almost Mediterranean vibe. Particularly noteworthy is the Parisian-style outdoor terrace, which accommodates guests wishing to dine al fresco and enhances the feeling of being in a special place. In the evenings, the atmosphere comes alive with soft lighting and the bustling activity of guests, making the restaurant an ideal spot for romantic evenings or social gatherings.

Romantic restaurant in London

Culinary offerings at "The Ivy Tower Bridge" feature modern British cuisine with international influences, served all day—from breakfast to dinner, seven days a week. A standout dish is the "Shepherd’s Pie," a traditional recipe of tender lamb mince and creamy mashed potatoes that perfectly captures the essence of British culinary culture. Equally popular is the "Blackened Cod Fillet," a spiced cod served with jasmine rice and a zesty sauce, known for its delicate texture and intense flavors. Fish lovers will delight in the "Smoked Haddock & Salmon Fishcake," a delicate fishcake served with a crispy crust and fresh sides. Desserts are also remarkable, particularly the "Chocolate Bombe," a theatrical experience involving vanilla ice cream, honeycomb pieces, and hot caramel sauce poured over the chocolate shell, causing it to melt.

Best brunch spots in London

The drink selection is diverse and thoughtfully curated. The wine list offers a wide range that complements the food, while the cocktails—often featuring seasonal ingredients—provide a modern twist. The "Bottomless Brunch" is particularly popular, allowing guests to enjoy unlimited Prosecco, cocktails, or other beverages with their meals, making the restaurant a hotspot for weekend gatherings. Afternoon tea is also an experience in itself, elegantly celebrating British tradition with a selection of fine teas, scones, and delicate sandwiches. The juice bar on the ground floor adds a fresh, healthy touch with smoothies that are perfect for a light breakfast.

Private events venue in London

Service is often described as friendly and professional, with staff dedicated to providing guests with a special experience. However, during peak times, such as before or after theatre performances nearby or during brunch, it can get busy, and the noise level rises—a testament to the restaurant's popularity. Nonetheless, the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the team remain constant highlights. The restaurant is also suitable for private events, with several separate rooms like the "Tower Bridge Room" or the "View Room," which are ideal for celebrations or business occasions, offering the same charm and comfort as the main dining area.

"The Ivy Tower Bridge" is more than just a restaurant—it is a place that combines the history and style of the Ivy brand with a modern, accessible twist. It appeals to a wide audience: from tourists appreciating the proximity to sights, to locals seeking a reliable favorite, and groups celebrating special occasions. The combination of a spectacular location, high-quality cuisine, and stylish ambiance makes it one of the most sought-after spots in London.

Veldig god mat, rent og trivelig sted. Utvalget gluten fri mat var veldig bra, personalet hadde gode rutiner for å unngå kontaminering

Faultless service from wonderful staff. Food presentation was more impressive than the food itself however and for the price could have been tastier. Most disappointing of all was that despite the most enormous list of wines, there was no low/no alcohol wine at all apart from a very expensive sparkling (by the glass). More than 20% of our party wanted a low/no option so 'The Ivy' need to get up to speed on this area asap

Wow!! The Sunday roast dinner was absolutely delicious! Better than I expected. I’m very pleased with the food, the service and the overall atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was a good portion, I didn’t even finish it all because it was so nice and filling, I was stuffed lol. The chicken was nicely cooked, the Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were lovely, and the vegetables complimented the food well too. The waiters were very nice and friendly, it was a very warm and professional service. I’ll definitely come back, I’d like to try the other meals. Had a great time!

Enjoyable pre theatre meal. Pretty restaurant and setting. Sea bass bit disappointing as qty of mashed potato and samphire was so tiny! Lovely wine champagne to start! Fish cake by contrast was filling, generous, and delicious. Nice service altho one cannot escape the slight feeling of it being a chain”. Needs to regain its independent vibe. Felt slightly shuffled in and shuffled out.

Disappointed with my visit to The Ivy. From the moment I arrived, the reception felt cold and unwelcoming, which set the tone for the rest of the experience. The staff seemed either distant or overly hovering, making the service feel off-balance. The food was mediocre—not what I expected for the price. Not sure if I caught them on a bad day, but overall, i probably wouldn’t recommend to anyone just based off my feedback.

A Perfect Sunday at The Ivy Tower Bridge Started the morning with a smooth coffee, followed by an incredible afternoon roast paired with a lovely bottle of red. The food was fantastic, cooked to perfection, and the service was just as impressive. A great spot with a beautiful setting—definitely worth a visit! The stunning skyline view of Tower Bridge makes it that extra special.

Went for a special birthday celebration, we thought for afternoon tea, which isn't served at this location, so a cream tea (opted for the champagne option) was had by all. Had to ask for tea or coffee. Asked the waiter to check for an ingredient in the scones, was informed, not sure, as the packaging had been thrown away! I personally would have thought they would have been made on location. Bit shy on the jam & cream.. but the fresh strawberries were nice addition.

Very nice place, reasonably priced. When booking through “open table” selected standard option (not outside). Was later called to rebook from outside to inside. Meaning good service from the restaurant making sure reservations are accurate while questionable from open table (good restaurant checked as out company could’ve found ourself at the restaurant with no real table booked should there be no spare inside. Vibe is very nice and welcoming, service at high standards, nothing to complain about at all. Waiters are neat, smily and always available. Food - starter was beyond all expectations (duck salad). Main (sirloin stake) I’d grade 6/10. Not juicy enough, slightly overcooked to my taste, but acceptable. Can you eat it? A absolutely. Did I fully enjoy it? Not really. Mushroom sauce was amazing. Side potato was exceptionally good. Will definitely come again, however trying a different main.
